[KEIS] Adopting Serengeti CMP to Build a Cloud Management Platform

The Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) adopted the latest OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure and Serengeti CMP to build a stable cloud environment with stronger security. Separated external and internal networks and an integrated management UI allow cloud resources to be operated efficiently.

A Stable and Scalable Cloud Operating Environment

To analyze and respond more quickly to labor market changes and emerging occupations, KEIS set out to upgrade its cloud environment to make use of advanced digital technologies such as AI and big data. It needed a stable, highly available infrastructure operating framework that would replace aging equipment and limited operating structures and respond flexibly to service growth.

Securing Cloud Stability, Security, and Operational Efficiency

The key challenge was to modernize aging infrastructure and meet growing service demand while securing stability, security, and high availability.

  • Infrastructure modernization: A foundation to replace aging hardware and the existing operating environment for better stability and security

  • Responding to service growth: A cloud operating environment that flexibly handles growing usage as services expand

  • High-availability operations: A framework to improve fault tolerance and availability across services and infrastructure

Building an Integrated Operating Framework with the Latest OpenStack Cloud and CMP

We built the latest OpenStack-based infrastructure separated into internal and external networks, and used Serengeti CMP to create an operating environment where the separated cloud resources are managed from a single screen.

  • Separated internal and external network infrastructure: Built the latest OpenStack infrastructure with physical separation for stability and security

  • CMP-based integrated management: Separated cloud resources are operated from a single screen through a standardized UI

  • High-availability features: Supported stable infrastructure operations with modern features such as auto scaling and load balancers

Greater Cloud Stability and Management Efficiency

Based on the latest cloud infrastructure and CMP, KEIS replaced an unstable environment built around aging equipment with a more stable and secure cloud operating framework. Single-screen integrated management and high-availability features also improved both the efficiency of cloud resource operations and service continuity.

  • Greater operational stability: Modernized aging infrastructure for a more stable and reliable cloud environment

  • Stronger security and easier management: Better operational control through network separation and integrated management on a standardized UI

  • More efficient resource operations: Flexible response to changing service demand with auto scaling and load balancers
